IEA Collaborative Project on EOR: 26th Annual Workshop & Symposium on Enhanced Oil Recovery

Issue 11, November 2005

The 26th Annual Workshop and Symposium of the International Energy Agency (IEA) Collaborative Project on EOR took place during September 2005. It was hosted by Japan, and organised by the Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC). The meeting was held at JOGMEC’s Technology and Research Center in Chiba near Tokyo. Tissa Jayasekera OBE (tissa.jayasekera@dti.gsi.gov.uk), Manager of DTI's ERDU-LED - Oil & Gas – Maximising Recovery Programme, reports.

Delegates

Around 40 delegates spent three days discussing the latest developments in EOR in their respective member countries. I, along with Professor Ali Danesh of Heriot-Watt University represented the UK. It was a very productive event with high quality presentations and lively discussions, conducted with the openness and informality that has become customary. JOGMEC did a splendid job hosting it.
