He has been involved in a variety of projects for the North Sea during the past year. These have included general North Sea overviews, specific area reviews and focussed field and well deliverability studies.
One of them has focussed on reviewing the potential of various IOR techniques for the North Sea. This work involved extensive literature review and was based on a large dataset of field parameters that was used to do a screening exercise for evaluating various IOR techniques for the North Sea fields. The results helped the client to deduce measured conclusions for guiding its future plans.
Another project, conducted for DTI, involved investigating the lessons learnt from the extended well tests conducted on some of the North Sea wells during the 1990s. The results of about ten major EWTs and their impacts on the subsequent field development plans were reviewed in this study. Conclusions were then drawn on how these were helpful or not in developing the fields and optimising recovery. Furthermore, how the lessons learnt can be used to future field developments in North Sea.
