IEA Collaborative Project on Enhanced Oil Recovery: 27th Annual Workshop and Symposium, Paris, September 2006
The 27th Annual Workshop and Symposium of the International Energy agency (IEA) Collaborative Project on EOR took place during September 2006. IFP hosted the event at their research facilities in Paris, France. Peter Haile (Peter.Haile@dti.gsi.gov.uk) attended on behalf of DTI with UK papers presented by Professor Ali Danish of Heriot-Watt University and Dr Stephan Matthai of Imperial College.
Delegates
Around 40 delegates were at the lively 3-day event discussing recent EOR developments in their respective countries and overall it was a very productive event with high quality presentations. IFP did a splendid job hosting the event.
The first day Seminar concentrated on ‘Reservoir Management through Monitoring’ but also included a diverse range of interesting papers such as ‘Resources to reserves’ and ‘Data Information Standards’. Following this the 2-day workshop presented papers from the contributing countries on the following themes:
Task A: Studies of Fluids and Interfaces in Porous Media
Task B: Fundamental Research of Surfactants and Polymers
Task C: Development of Gas Flooding Techniques
Task D: Thermal Recovery
Task E: Dynamic Reservoir Characterisation
Task F: Emerging Technologies
