LCU-LED - Oil & Gas - Maximising Recovery Programme (OG-MRP) is New Name for SHARP
LCU-LED is the DTI Licensing and Consents Unit - Licensing Exploration and Development Directorate. Tissa Jayasekera OBE (Tissa.Jayasekera@dti.gsi.gov.uk) is Manager of the Oil & Gas - Maximising Recovery Programme OG-MRP (formerly SHARP).
The programme name change (SHARP to OG-MRP) took place very recently, but it will take a while to implement this into the titles, branding and addresses of the various websites it has connections with. All this should be completed by the time of the next issue of IOR Views.
Two new themes were added recently to the OG-MRP website (http://www.dti-sharp.com ), under Dissemination. They are: Relative Permeability and Depressurisation. They contain a collection of reports from past SHARP studies along with papers that have been presented at conferences and seminars. All confidential items have been removed.
The advisory committee ACHARR is due to meet shortly. An item to be discussed will be the themes for the next call for ACHARR proposals. The flyer for this call should be on the website http://www.dti-sharp.com in early January 2005 - anyone interested in submitting a JIP proposal should keep an eye out for this.
Another item to be discussed with ACHARR is the future of IOR Views. Although I stated in the last issue that it has not achieved two out of the three original objectives, it has met the third - dissemination of new knowledge and exchange of views - admirably well, and it has become very popular in the IOR community worldwide. David Hughes, in the Editorial, provides ample evidence for this. The disappointing aspect is the lack of spontaneity in providing articles - David has been working very hard to get a good crop of articles into each issue. It is very likely that we will go for to two issues a year (instead of three).
The annual DTI IOR Seminar will be combined with DEVEX this year - so it will be a joint event with DTI, SPE, PESGB and AFES. It will be held at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on 18-19 May 2005 (http://www.dti-sharp.co.uk/dissemination/workshops/DEVEX2005.pdf ).
